Windows Software Architect
We are looking for someone to join our client's new group as the lead technical contributor for software development for Windows based tablet products. The tablet software team is in the early forming stages and presents an opportunity to play a key role in building the platform software foundation and creation of software technologies. Responsibilities include partnering with Microsoft, key customers, independent technology suppliers, marketing, engineering management and senior architects from multiple internal disciplines. You will lead the organization’s efforts to influence the company’s future silicon roadmap to facilitate software scalability and optimize overall system performance. Other responsibilities include leading debug of especially difficult problems involving hardware and/or multiple software subsystems; overseeing development of prototypes to evaluate or illustrate new technologies; mentoring senior engineers and driving significant improvements in the company’s overall software development practices.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent. - Minimum of 15 years developing low level embedded software, leading collaborative software/silicon development and demonstrated success in designing and leading implementation of complex software architectures to aggressive deadlines. - Demonstrated leadership in influencing technical direction at the corporate and/or industry level. - Minimum 10 years experience with Windows frameworks and driver/HAL interfaces and GFX and media processing at the HW interface (Win 8 preferably). - Familiarity with power management architecture and security/DRM/conditional access implementations - Knowledge of IA/PC system architecture and experience with development of consumer based devices such as tablets, mobile phones or set top boxes. - Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
