The SCS Principal Consultant is the lead in pursuing and delivering complex business transformation projects and operates seamlessly up to the executive level with our clients as a trusted adviser.
The SCS Principal Consultant responsibilities will range depending on market needs and client opportunities through pursuit into project delivery for complex Business Transformation engagements. They will be required to architect and create viable business solutions and provide expertise in the areas of business case development, process consulting, organizational change, enterprise architecture design- including technology selection, transformation planning and governance.
The role requires an international individual with strong leadership capabilities that is passionate about working in complex environments, matrixes organizations, and various locations on a global basis. They will be required to "lead by delivering" in client engagements in addition to providing skills transfer, coaching and mentoring to regional and country HP delivery organizations.
The role requires a "team player and leader" who contributes as part of a high performing team, is dynamic, flexible, creative, collaborative, and passionate about delivering client business value and successful transformation programs.
Description: · Provides process, strategy, architecture, business case and change consulting for Communications & Media domain solutions to external client at functional and senior management level, on a chargeable basis. · Exhibits authoritative business, commercial and technical acumen to develop meaningful business recommendations for clients to address business issues. · Enables the client to innovate and formulate business solutions and "technology enabled" business models and new ways of doing business to create breakthrough positions in the marketplace. · Stays current with industry and competitive research and information to enable rich client dialogue, maintains an understanding of client business challenges, industry trends and markets. Demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge to position and map HP capabilities that align to client business objectives and initiatives. · Leads in strategy and business issues identification and resolution in order to provide key inputs to HP sales plans and account strategies. · Manages strategic relationships with the client's middle to senior management and acts as a trusted advisor in transforming the client's business. · Applies developed SCS subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. · Able to adapt quickly and work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope. · Able to provide a balanced client oriented approach with both a sales and delivery attitude. · Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. · Executes intensive SCS skills transfer to project team members not experienced in SCS/business consulting during pursuit and delivery. · Participates actively to the SCS business consulting profession program and related community.· Able to communicate how and where technology based business solutions can be used to address key business processes in a particular domain.
E ducation and Experience Required Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or Master's (graduate) degree in Information technology and/or Telecommunications Engineering and/or MBA. Senior level business consulting experience - minimum 5 to 10 years business systems consulting experience preferably with tier 1 level industry leaders across clients in large multi-national Service Providers (experience in the Media industry a plus). Master level of knowledge across multiple domains, technologies or IT/Telco/media disciplines. Extensive experience in delivering consulting services across Business Process, Enterprise Architecture, Transformation governance, organizational change leveraging industry standards and best practices for Communications and Media customers. Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering business and technology transition and/or transformation projects. Extensive experience in application of systems engineering driven program/project management methods and processes to define, plan, cost, resource, track to ensure the accomplishment of targeted goals for large complex enterprise or global level systems integration projects. Extensive experience in one or more industry acknowledged architectural modelling frameworks, methodologies (e.g. SEI, Zachman, TOGAF, ITSM, .)., and tools and understands how to apply this knowledge to successfully deliver client projects. Extensive experience as a team or project leader providing leadership to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process. Extensive experience in leading the preparation of proposals and bids for large enterprise or global level solutions that span multiple technologies or operational areas. Experience with Project/Program Management/Governance and PMI. Extensive experience in Planning, Facilitation and Leading professional workshops and training for Communications and Media clients. Experience in working in an international environment spanning several countries, cultures, and geographic locations. Experience in managing across internal and external organization boundaries and business units. Experience with design, implementation and operations of leading Commercial Off the Shelf Applications (ideally including HP solutions, Oracle, Telcordia, Amdocs products and related best practices). Experience in developing Business Cases, ROI models, including the identification of efficient business goals and solution benefits.
Knowledge and Skills Required · Deep knowledge in Telco, Media and IT industry standards. · Knowledge of Communications & Media industry operational best practices. · Able to develop and maintain enduring relationships at the highest levels of the client's organization, establishes professional relationships and credibility with key IT and business executives in support of other established relationships with the client. · Demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative teamwork capabilities to create deep trust and confidence with clients and HP sales/delivery teams. · Able to lead effectively in a complex and political environment across the client, HP & partner organisations, and deliver results. · Able to influence without direct authority, able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative. · Efficient and pragmatic in capturing requirements, facilitating consolidation of conflicting expectations, manage politics of the client. · Able to orchestrate complex solutions that encompasses processes, complex application-architectures as well as organizational capabilities. · Detailed understanding of Consulting, Systems Integration and Outsourcing businesses. · Understanding of financial accounting principles and company financial information. · Able to develop strong internal relationships across functional groups and is committed to maximize the effectiveness of skills transfer, IP collection and pre-sales activities. · Able to develop, enhance and reuse SCS collateral (e.g. client presentations, proposal templates, case studies, and etc.) by adapting, evolving or localizing existing SCS assets. · Able to communicate to clients and HP teams through written and presentation format at the highest professional standards. · Able to manage and work effectively under time pressure with conflicting priorities.
