As a Manager in Functional Verification (FV) , you will work closely with some of our top customers to solve sophisticated technical challenges in the area of Simulation, Assertion Based Verification, Functional Safety, Verification IP, Lint, Clock Domain Crossing, Reset Domain Crossing, Low Power and help drive next generation Functional Verification product suite and solutions.

    As a member of the World Trade Support Americas Organization, you will lead a team of Support Application Engineers, located throughout North America, to support post-sales efforts, support product win, deployment, and lead adoption at major accounts. You and your team will be a pool of North American guide resource for the Functional Verification (FV) Solutions product suite.

    Job Description:

    Leads personnel activities of staff (i.e. hires, trains, appraises, pay, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as vital, etc.). Works with highest -level customer engineers and managers to develop or improve sophisticated computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes for a customer. Uses computer-aided systems to assist and instruct lead customer engineers on large scale, sophisticated design and tooling tasks involving multiple design environments. Assists other specialists in the design, development, and implementation of large scale, sophisticated graphical application programs on multiple software products and hardware platforms. Provides business and technical feedback to software and hardware vendors. Uses sophisticated data exchange methodologies to facilitate effective data sharing between dissimilar systems or applications that span across engineering teams. Provides technical mentorship to lead customer engineers in the application of sophisticated design techniques and system procedures related to computer-aided engineering software. Responsible for in-depth technical papers and presentations to customer management. Technical Lead in guiding the team including the senior staff. Works without supervision on the most sophisticated projects with complete latitude for independent judgment. Sophisticated knowledge of the field.

    As the FV Application Engineering Support Manager you will be responsible for the following

    Lead post-sales technical support activities, collaborate with sales teams on pre-sales engagements providing leadership and management for Application Support Engineer team. These activities include establishing value for Siemens EDA products and differentiation from the competition.

    • Leading the customer support day-to-day functions i.e technical support to customer issues, responding to increased customer support issues and implementing customer support processes to improve customer satisfaction.

    • Work closely with product marketing teams, sales management, account teams, ATMs and regional AEMs to understand business opportunities, develop and implement regional technical support plan to align with the sales account plans. Also leading resource levels within the technical team to align the right technical resources to support pre-sales, competitive replacement campaigns and post-sales engagements.

    • To drive post-sales support business for Siemens EDA, using technical expertise and working directly with customers as a part of EDA support team to establish criteria for successful product adoption and driving customer success and satisfaction. Communicating frequently with peers and management on progress and account status.

    • Provides mentor to facilitate development of Support Application Engineer team and drives individual and team achievement through the growth talks process.

    • Establishes and maintains lines of communication with product engineering on issues such as considerations for product quality, reliability, and performance.

    • Work with marketing and product managers to define new products and may provide insight from the field back to these groups.

    • Lead Knowledge Management process for CAEs to develop relevant Knowledge Based Articles, Videos driving self-solve process for the customers.

    • Assessing customers support statistics and preparing detailed reports on the findings and next steps.

    • Supervising and evaluating the team's ongoing training efforts.

    • Interviewing and hiring new employees.

    • Delivering performance evaluations and following the disciplinary process according to company policy.

    • Leading the budget of the customer support department.

    Job Qualifications:

    • BSEE or BSCS degree is required; MSEE degree preferred; 5+ years in technical sales/support or verification implementation roles in Functional Verification in a relevant industry. Management experience preferred.

    • Experience in and broad knowledge of Functional Verification technology and methodologies, in particular Questa platform preferred.

    • Hands-on experience in testbench and RTL languages (UVM, SV, Verilog, VHDL) is a must. Broad understanding of ASIC design flows preferred.

    • Experience with standard office applications like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

    The job can be located in Wilsonville/Austin with as much as 25% travel.

    The salary range for this position is $145,700 to $262,300 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
