Position Summary:

The standard function of the position is to assist or work under close supervision of an experienced technician, mentor or supervisor at a customer's location or job site, as needed, with the installation, inspection or service of commercial fire, security, and other low voltage systems.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Install cable supports such as beam clamps w/ J-hooks, conduit sleeves, etc.

• Work with a teammate to properly pull & support category cable.

• Install & terminate field devices such as intrusion detection system motion detectors, video surveillance cameras, access card readers, ceiling mounted intercom speakers, fire alarm horn/strobes and other field devices as required

• Track and notate field devices installed per District standard on system shop drawings

• Assist an experienced service technician with inspecting fire alarm, video surveillance, access control and other systems

• Assist an experienced service technician with servicing fire alarm, video surveillance, access control and other systems

• Report to the assigned meeting or work location on time.

• Utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.

• Completes all assigned task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.

• Must possess a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills

• Must be detail-oriented.

• Must complete other projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills & Experience):

• Minimum of High School Diploma/Vocational Training.

• No minimum years of professional experience nor professional skills required.

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to clear a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.

Certification/Licensing:

• Must obtain or possess certifications and/or licenses if required by state or local codes.

Work Environment:

• The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and harsh work environments.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.

• Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.

• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment; work in ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings; lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.

• Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with and be able to travel on short notice.

• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
