    The incumbent is responsible for drivetrain shaft and gear component designs suitable for LCV/utility product and China manufacturing capability, including shaft and gear component in transmission, torque converter and axles.

    This individual will work for drivetrain component team in China providing engineering support for drivetrain shaft and gear component localization and sourcing, new product development, and component manufacturing.

    The incumbent is expected to support drivetrain parts China sourcing development and supplier process and quality control, including components inspection and validation.

    The person is expected to work closely with engineers from our US and China teams and to collectively deliver quality drivetrain products and components for the broad construction machinery market Caterpillar serves.

    The incumbent will demonstrate strong customer focus by staying current with customer needs as well as new technologies, products, manufacturing & assembly processes/methods.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering major

    A minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experiences required. Manufacturing experiences desired.

    Familiar with mechanical component development process, such as requirement definition, set up DVP&R, APQP/PPAP, validation plan, FMEA, risk assessment, etc.

    Fluent Mandarin Chinese and good English communication ability

    Strong initiative, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

    Good Cero or similar CAD software experiences

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Drivetrain system and components design and manufacturing experiences are preferred, especially on casting component

    Strong design and analysis capability desired
