  • Automation Engineer

    Join our team as the pivotal leader responsible for elevating the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of our cutting-edge automation cells.

    As the Automation Technical Lead, you'll spearhead transformative manufacturing projects and continuous improvement initiatives across our tipping, lining, assembly, and press side automation equipment.

    What you will do:

    • Mentor, and oversee the performance of our Automation Technical team, fostering their expertise in equipment troubleshooting, repair, and changeovers.

    • OEE optimization by minimizing downtime, ensuring impeccable quality, reducing scrap rates, and maintaining peak equipment performance while facilitating daily team communication.

    • Crucial support to our maintenance & automation team, offering guidance on preventative maintenance and major refurbishments for manufacturing and facility equipment.

    • Troubleshoot automation issues, collaborating with plant staff and suppliers to swiftly restore equipment functionality within budgetary constraints.

    • Closely with the Maintenance team, offering expertise in hydraulic and electrical repairs on non-automation equipment as needed.

    • Timely solutions for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC problems, ensuring uninterrupted production flow.

    • Procurement processes for essential parts, equipment, and components, contributing to seamless production continuity.

    • Continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation needs, exploring alternative solutions, and enhancing plant operations.

    • Stringent adherence to plant safety protocols and 5S initiatives, proactively identifying and eliminating safety hazards while monitoring work quality.

    • Compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining impeccable standards of operation.

    • With plant management - technical matters related to machine maintenance and automation equipment performance.

    • With the Maintenance Manager - ongoing maintenance efforts, utilizing our IQS database to establish comprehensive machine records.

    • Validation of secondary operations equipment and drive implementation of equipment and programs for quality/productivity improvements.

    What you will need:

    • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with 5 years of plastics injection molding engineering experience, or an Associate's Degree with 7 years of relevant experience.

    • Hands-on experience in assembly automation, injection molding engineering, and secondary automation, with a keen understanding of PLC programming and electrical controls.

    • Experience in mechanical and design aspects of automation, including general machining capabilities.

    • Dedication to exceeding customer and company expectations.

    • Communication skills, both verbal and written, with a detail-oriented approach to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Installation and operation validations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
