  • General Summary

    COLSA is seeking to hire a Software Cloud Application Development professional to support our Enterprise IT Support Services work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama. AvMC is the U.S. Army's focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the weapons systems life cycle. AvMC's mission is to "deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions" to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

    • Provide support for existing full stack and new cloud applications and collaborative service capabilities for AvMC G6. These services include support for developing and implementing enterprise and Directorate-level applications but are not limited to complete life cycle support including planning, analysis, research and development, design, development, integration and testing, implementation, operations and maintenance, information assurance, and final disposition.

    • Responsible for providing modifications and maintenance to all legacy systems to include migration of legacy systems to cloud enabled deployments. Develop new software that is cloud ready.

    • Application development shall be performed using Agile and DevSecOps processes and principles

    • Design applications that are reliable, efficient in design, easily maintained, and scalable to meet increasing demands.

    • Use applicable structured software development and object-oriented principles and tool suites while adhering to established software development standards and guidelines within a CI/CD environment.

    • Application development includes writing, testing, executing, and maintaining the application source code.

    • Follow applicable Configuration and Change Management policies developed in accordance with IEEE and ISO to include source code management utilizing the AvMC standard software repositories.

    • Follow cybersecurity policies to ensure compliance and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to support accreditation of software on the AvMC network.

    • Develop and maintain documentation for the applications to describe program and database design, code logic, coding standards, change package releases, and production monitoring procedures.

    • Support Human Center Design initiatives to re-evaluate and update legacy applications' UI/UX.

    Required SkillsRequired Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field

    • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience

    • Experience with ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, HTML5, CSS3, Razor Pages, JavaScript, Bootstrap, ClosedXML (Excel file generation), Responsive Web Design (Angular), AJAX, JSON, LINQ, SQL, DB schema design.

    • Experience using Visual Studio (coding), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and TFS development tools

    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    • Willing and able to obtain Security +CE certification within 6 months of hire

    • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

    • Experience fostering positive client relationships as a liason or representative

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Background in integration techniques (REST/SOAP API's)
