    Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a CNC Programming Specialist to join the Syracuse, NY site manufacturing team.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

    What you'll do:

    Position Summary:

    This position will develop and implement CNC programs and tool layouts to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes, as well as, focus on productivity optimization within department requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Program and assist with set ups as required of CNC machines using long hand G-Code, Mazatrol, Mastercam and other software. Provide programming support on production jobs.

    • Assist in the installation and implementation of new CNC equipment by creating programs and work holding fixtures.

    • Identify and order new tooling needs for the creation or improvement of programs as needed. Design new jigs, tools, fixtures, and provide technical direction to production personnel.

    • Redesign existing tooling, update fixture drawings, and revise records, as required by changes in manufacturing processes.

    • Supervise the validation of new program roll out and communicate the process effectively with process engineers, quality, and production personnel.

    • Implement projects and best practices to maximize CNC work center efficiency using Lean principles.

    • Collaborate daily with manufacturing engineering and production supervisors concerning operational challenges.

    • Investigate quality problems relative to machining and provide technical direction to implement corrective actions and error proofing for future production.

    • Train CNC machine operators on new machining technologies as needed.

    • Review Engineering Change Notices and make timely changes to programming, tooling, fixturing, etc. in order to implement changes to production parts.

    • Be pro-active in identifying and administering projects, in order to obtain the best results for the company and maximize use of resources.

    • Understand and follow a high standard of professional ethics, to ensure the integrity of the department and the work performed.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • 2 year technical degree or certificate with focus on CNC machining or related discipline from an accredited institution OR in lieu of certification or degree, a minimum 3 years' experience writing programs for CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment

    • Minimum 1 year of continuous improvement experience

    • Experience in at least one of the following: SolidWorks, MasterCam, or AutoCAD

    • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

    • 4+ years of experience writing programs for CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment

    • 2+ years of continuous improvement experience

    • Experience programming Okuma horizontal machining centers

    • Union experience
