As a Safety Engineer Intern at Micron, you will gain exposure to the development and implementation elements of our overall safety management system. As a Safety Engineer Intern at Micron, you will participate in a variety of EHS-related activities evaluation of trends, root cause analysis, the development/implementation of basic safety and health programs, compliance activities, and corporate responsibility activities. The Safety Engineer intern will be responsible to complete assigned activities, collaborate with corporate and site EHS team members as needed.
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited program in industrial hygiene, safety/health sciences, engineering, or related degrees.
Proficient in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Must have access to reliable transportation
This is a co-op position, the preferred duration is 6-9 months; beginning in January, 2019.
Our basic expectations are:
Assist with safety programs
Completing work as assigned and meeting all deadlines
Routinely communicating with department staff and informing them of any difficulties in completing work
Presentation to senior level staff at the conclusion of the internship
Working hours as agreed and giving advance notice of any necessary schedule changes
Dress is casual but appropriate for an office environment
Attending meetings as necessary
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team environment
