    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Communications Systems Responsible Engineer OR a Principal Communications Systems Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK. This role can be performed from our San Diego, CA location as well.

    Essential Functions:

    • Acting as RE (Responsible Engineer) for communications subsystems.

    • Responsibilities include the ability to design, analyze, configure, test, document and troubleshoot communications subsystems.

    • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications.

    • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to implement LOS and BLOS communication subsystems to meet mission objectives.

    • Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians to install and configure and test subsystems in development and test environments.

    • Travel up to 50%

    This position may be filled at either the Communications Systems Responsible Engineer level OR at the Principal Communications Systems Responsible Engineer level based on the qualifications listed below.

    Basic Qualifications for Communications Systems Responsible Engineer:

    • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masters Degree in a STEM field with 0 years of related engineering experience.

    • Experience designing, configuring, installing, and operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications

    • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms

    • Experience with cryptographic implementations

    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance prior to commencement of employment. (Active DoD Secret clearance highly preferred.) This DoD Secret clearance must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

    • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masters Degree in a STEM field with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of related engineering experience.

    • Experience designing, configuring, installing, and operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications

    • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms

    • Experience with cryptographic implementations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Active DOD Secret Clearance or higher

    • Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot audio communications.

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

    • Experience with RF antenna design and performance analysis

    • Experience with performance assessment through link margin and antenna pattern analyses

    • Ability to design select and characterize RF design to meet mission objectives

    Salary Range: $71,400 - $130,800

    Salary Range 2: $87,800 - $160,900

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
