JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION -- Candidate will be responsible for software development and testing for a variety of real-time aircraft telemetry data acquisition and post-flight data reduction applications. Understanding of data analysis and processing systems as well as a foundational understanding of digital electronics is key in being able to develop software for these specific types of data processing systems. Intermediate level knowledge of the various Range Commanders Council IRIG telemetry processing standards, to include Pulse Code Modulation Standards, Digitized Audio Telemetry, Magnetic Tape Recorder and Reproducer, and telemetry networking standards is required. Knowledge of Intel hardware systems and QT development is a plus. Intermediate level knowledge of C++ and Linux programming knowledge is required with an understanding of assembly language a plus. Use of QT open source toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces as well as cross-platform applications is a plus. Intermediate experience with different operating systems, with emphasis on Windows and Linux is required. Intermediate level knowledge and experience with software engineering, system engineering, lifecycle and tools including requirements development, requirements management, design/modeling, implementation, testing, deployment, configuration management, and software sustainment. Ability to follow the project's software and system engineering lifecycle processes and provide recommendations for improving the processes is required. Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office products. Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure developed software solutions meet stakeholder needs and expectations. Provide recommendations for improvement to technology infrastructure. The individual should be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. Candidate must have knowledge of software development lifecycles and industry standard test processes. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 180 days of employment.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE - The incumbent must have a Bachelor's Degree in an associated discipline a (Computer Science, Computer Information Technology or Mathematics) and at least 4 years of related experience or have a Master's Degree in an associated discipline and at least 2 years of experience, or a PhD in an associated discipline. Incumbent must possess effective oral and written communication skills. Must have experience with computer based systems and applications. Must have programming skills in languages used for job specific programming tasks, and familiarization with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques. Applicant must have experience with systems engineering and software development lifecycles. Candidate must have or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 180 days of employment. Must obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
