    Location: Akron OH (Local candidates only)

    Work Schedule: Remote * but candidates must reside in the area

    Contract Details: 12 months (4-month right-to-hire)

    Pay Rate : $69hr

    We are seeking a skilled Data Designer for a hybrid role based in Akron, Ohio, with on-site presence required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This is a 12-month contract to hire position operating on EST hours.

    As a Data Designer, you will be responsible for analyzing, creating, designing, maintaining, and communicating conceptual, logical, and physical models to meet business requirements. You will adhere to client data design standards and best practices while analyzing complex data and troubleshooting existing databases. Proficiency in relational and dimensional database designs, along with experience in Erwin and Star Schema , is preferred, with Snowflake being a plus.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development of standards and best practices for data design, naming conventions, and coding practices to ensure consistency, optimal performance, high-quality data, and reduced redundancy.

    • Translate business needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with design standards and best practices, collaborating with business stakeholders and IT members.

    • Design and implement necessary database tables, data strategies, and data flows in collaboration with the Application Development team.

    • Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models , along with corresponding metadata, and recommend opportunities for model reuse.

    • Ensure optimal maintenance of data design environment and tools, such as ERwin , to support efficient operations.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of experience as a Data Designer or in a related role.

    • Expertise in data design, modeling, and database management, preferably with 10-15 years of overall experience.

    • Knowledge of P&C insurance industry is desirable.

    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
