The Legal Technology Solutions (LTS) is seeking a Data Engineer who can execute cutting edge solutions to an array of emerging problems, for Meta's Legal organization. This role allows for a high degree of ownership of the solutions you launch and the ability to make positive change every ~~~ a highly collaborative organization, our data engineers work cross-functionally with software engineering, data science, and ML engineering to optimize our operations, and ensure the safety and integrity of the platform for all of our 3 billion plus users, as well as our internal employee community.Beyond this, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, and you'll have a unique opportunity to solve some of the most interesting data challenges with efficiency and integrity, at a scale few companies can match.

    Required Skills:

    Data Engineer, Legal Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with engineers, technical product managers, business stakeholders, and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data insights in a meaningful way

    2. Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership

    3. Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements, confirm safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes within allocated areas of ownership

    4. Design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products or domains

    5. Solve our most challenging data integration problems, utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources

    6. Assist in owning existing processes running in production, optimizing complex code through advanced algorithmic concepts

    7. Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts

    8. Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact

    9. Mentor team members by giving/receiving actionable feedback

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

    2. 5+ years of work experience in data engineering (a minimum of 2+ years with a Ph.D)

    3. Experience with workflow management engines (i.e. Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, Dagster, ~~~, Google Cloud Composer, AWS Step Functions, Azure Data Factory, UC4, Control-M)

    4. Experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala, etc.)

    5. Experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance

    6. Experience analyzing data to discover opportunities and address gaps

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Master's or Ph.D degree in a STEM field

    2. Experience with one or more of the following: data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, data privacy

    3. Experience working with terabyte to petabyte scale data

    Public Compensation:

    $134,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
