    This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Job Summary:

    The Data Manager role reports to the Director of the Performance Management CoE. These roles are responsible for designing, building and implementing the required databases and reports to support the Performance Management tools, such as OEE/TEEP, Cost of poor quality and financial performance, as well as providing maintenance for these systems.

    The Data Manager will be a subject matter expert within the operations COEs on analysis and reporting. The Data Manager needs to have expert technical knowledge of platforms and software technology, deep expertise in data management techniques, ability to drive effective support of data analysis and model management, and experience with IT project management practices.

    In addition to the data responsibilities, the colleagues in these roles need a sound understanding of the financial and operational impacts of the data managed to identify areas of opportunity and to ensure accurate reporting. The Data Manager relies on a strong ability to deal with information in various configurations and from diverse global sources, and to be able to cleanse, aggregate and visualize to provide insights.

    The Data Manager role is instrumental in pulling together data requests to support critical business decisions.

    Typical initiatives that performance management Data Managers include items such as

    • Financial performance data reporting and variance tools

    • Asset Utilization (OEE/TEEP) database and visuals

    • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) database and visuals

    • Readiness/Wave analytical products

    • Global Y-Chart & Operations KPI tracking & reporting

    • Financial Planning toolkit for operations

    • Dedicated reporting products for COEs such as RCM, Utilities and technology

    The successful candidate will exhibit the following characteristics and skills:

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data warehousing solutions

    • Working knowledge of data and analytics architecture, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices

    • Specialist to expert-level competency in several to all of the following platforms and systems: SQL, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Javascript, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, Web development, Visual Studio, Excel PowerQuery, and Power BI - with ability to quickly learn and fill in gaps in needed areas.

    • Understands and can navigate complex business source systems. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management a plus.

    • Strong financial acumen. Have a high level understanding of operational accounting best practices and ability to navigate ADM's systems and processes, leveraging experience, internal network and ability to learn.

    • Understand fundamentals of plant operations, including process flow, cost structure and energy and material balance

    • Understand fundamentals of plant cost position

    • Understand drivers for fixed and variable costs, how to plan and analyze, able to grasp principles of benchmarking and optimization

    • Ability to understand diverse cost drivers such as depreciation, pricing, inflation, operational efficiency, allocations and absorption

    Job Qualifications:

    • 4 year university degree required in engineering, computer science, IT or equivalent

    • 5+ years in process operations with preferred exposure to engineering, project and operations management, or, 5+ years in IT management systems and data processing and architecture systems coupled with strong process operations acumen

    • Prior operations management experience is helpful

    • Plant-specific process knowledge preferred, or sufficient ability to learn quickly. Multiple ADM process units helpful.

    • Requires ability to collaborate, influence, lead, and execute.

    • Must be able to communicate at all levels, and be comfortable engaging with colleagues across varied functions and levels.
