    Data Modeler

    KBR has a requirement for a - Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) Database Analyst to provide database management support to USSTRATCOM. Responsibilities include implementing plans, designs, patch management, maintain existing databases, control accesses, monitor performance, programming and scripting, capacity planning and tuning. Plan, lead and evaluate technology assignments, performance results and recommend changes. Identify problem areas and recommend and perform corrective actions, collaborating in the design, development, and implementation of new databases. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Certifications IAW DoD Directive 8570.1M, Security+ is required. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to support and lead teams. A Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required for this position

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.

    • Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.

    • Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases.

    • Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

    • Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., COGNOS)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).

    • Performs database programming and supports systems design.

    • Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.

    Ability to Support Real-World Operations and Exercise Support

    • Develop and implement databases, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

    • identify patterns, correlations, and causations, in order to perform the required economic analysis

    • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports (policy briefs and reports reviewing literature, explaining analytical methods and presenting the results) that enable tracking various development trends over time (and in close to real time)

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA Degree with 4 years' experience; will consider 12 years' relevant experience in lieu of degree

    • 10+ years of experience with Data Analysis

    • Active Top Secret security clearance is required

    • US citizen
