Design Assurance, Program Application Engineer
Job Description & Qualifications:
Lead Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) Engineering Process for Vehicle Components and Systems Engineering (VCSE) Program Applications.
Lead application of FMA to significantly improve Ford's profitability through avoidance of high cost Field Service Actions (FSA's), Warranty, and Stop Ships.
Support development of Vehicle Program FMA plans for VCSE functions to deliver products that satisfy and delight our customers.
Lead Program FMA Analysis for 3-5 FMA items for a given VCSE function to achieve improved design robustness.
Apply FMA principles to develop new technology and assess Application Readiness.
Support creation of 5Ds as necessary.
Work with FMA Coach Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop a Technical Maturity Model (TMM) plan to get to Master Level for all FMA Disciplines.
Work with DV and Reliability SME in assessing Re-DV plans for parts/systems going through late program part churn.
Work with cross-function PRA SME to ensure FMA analysis has all necessary considerations from corporate Lessons Learned.
Interface with FMA experts for updates on latest FMA training, tools and techniques.
Provide Point of View for all Program Technical Design Reviews across multiple engineering functions.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
2+ years' of relevant technical work experience
Engineering Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial.
Experience in performing FMA Analysis (Design Robustness Tools).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with and leading global teams
Experience with Six Sigma tools.
Experience in statistical problem solving.
Systems Engineering awareness.
Module Engineering awareness.
