Digital R&D Data Products - R&D Portfolio Decision Sciences Software/Data Engineering Internship

The Digital R&D Data Products was formed at the end of 2022 to accelerate and optimize R&D outcomes by creating transformative digital data products at scale across R&D. We are a team focused on building digital products and capabilities to generate insights from data and enhance R&D decision-making. Our strategy is focused on connecting data across R&D for analytics use as part of what we call an R&D data fabric, building scalable data storage and high-performance compute platforms, and bringing the power of AI & Analytic products to the R&D community.

Our unit offers a stimulating and versatile internship in an international environment with contact to various leaders across our Digital function. We are a team who work in a dynamic and informal atmosphere, and we expect our interns to become vital members of the team.

This role will work alongside the R&D Asset Portfolio Product and Design teams to build cutting edge solutions that transform our R&D function. The role requires experience in building data pipelines/software products and provides opportunities to work on the latest Generative AI areas such as Prompt Engineering and Power BI Copilot/Q&A.

As an intern the role will cover following responsibilities:

• You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work

• Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Sanofi

• This role will work alongside the Product and Design teams to ensure solutions are relevant and clearly presented to our users

• Ensure code conforms to quality guidelines set forth by team

• Engage in conversations with multiple engineering and product teams

• Participate in code reviews

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with gathering, consolidating and analyzing data from databases and reports is required;

• Working knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Python or Javascript)

• Experience in using MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel is required

• Knowledge in developing Power BI or Tableau dashboards is desired

• Interest in and ability to exploring Prompt Engineering is required

• Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Sanofi does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.

• Currently enrolled as an Undergraduate or Graduate student in Computer Science, Analytics, or related field with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.

• Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Sanofi.
