    As the Director of IT Applications for Business Applications within our Product Engineering team , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. Your responsibilities will span across various critical areas:

    POSITION PURPOSE

    Assists the Vice President by performing a broad scope of duties spanning multiple applications/tools and/or projects (5 or more major) involving multiple, diverse, complex customer and vendor relationships associated with the portfolio of applications/tools being managed. Makes multifaceted, well-thought-out recommendations linking cross-functional representation within Information & Technology Services. Directs activities of teams supporting enterprise level products and applications / tools and may have several managers and senior managers as direct reports. Manages all levels and aspects of application / tool services and manages customer service level expectations with all RHMs, SOs, and System Office. Incumbent is responsible for life cycle management of legacy applications, strategic contribution to new product offerings and planning for transition of replacement applications / tools. Responsible for the oversight of multi-product/multi-facility projects and the associated resource management.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

    • Directs day-to-day operations of multiple departments and teams that support enterprise level applications / tools and assumes accountability for resource management and staffing levels.

    • Provides oversight for enterprise initiatives. Develops plans and strategies; identifies key outcomes.

    • Works to ensure alignment in terms of organization priority, adequate funding, executive sponsorship, business owner support, and ITS commitment.

    • Directs or approves training and skill development plans to provide senior managers, managers, team leads and staff expertise in programming, technical, and business analysis skills. Responsible for maximizing cross-training opportunities within a diverse application / tool / project portfolio to efficiently utilize staff. Develops and recommends required training standards for application and/or technical support staff, team leaders, managers and senior managers.

    • Responsible for evaluating senior manager, manager, and team lead performance; reviewing staff performance evaluated by senior managers, managers and team leaders, and providing guidance and direction for staff hiring and performance-related decisions.

    • Develops and institutes process standards for management of senior manager, manager, team-lead and staff responsibilities to ensure consistency in performance.

    • Leads senior level customer meetings and engagements. Participates in other executive level forums. Builds key relationships with RHMs, SOs, and System Office leaders.

    • Creates, organizes, and leads cross-functional workgroups utilizing multi-disciplined resources for problem resolution, performance optimization and other tactical planning.

    • Responsible for on-going communication to customers, senior leadership across the system, managers, and staff related to new product functionality, regulatory requirements, vendor updates and product standardization opportunities within the broad set of applications / tools / projects in their charge. Maintains alignment with enterprise initiatives.

    • Facilitates conflict resolution in client priorities, application or system problems, business process problems, personnel issues, etc.

    • Develops and manages service level agreements. Directs and is accountable for monitoring all customer service metrics as defined by several customer groups representing multiple enterprise applications / tools and/or projects. Identifies and implements changes in services and processes to achieve metric goals.

    • Monitors and approves enhancement requests for all supported applications / tools / projects. Reviews and recommends all statements of work and requests for services outside of basic support services.

    • Responsible for on-going cross-functional evaluation of all applications, databases, technology and supporting infrastructure required for optimal client effectiveness and operational efficiencies.

    • Directs and oversees budget(s) development, management and reconciliation. Assists Vice President with roll-up budget management and reconciliation, as needed. Responsible for managing all resources effectively and efficiently and for contracting for supplemental resources and the management of the purchase/invoice process.

    • Oversees vendor management of multiple enterprise applications / tools. Leads, facilitates, or participates in contract negotiations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in IT or healthcare or an equivalent combination and related work experience. Master's Degree preferred.

    • Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience in related areas such as Information Systems, Managed Care, Physician Practice Management or acute healthcare, with preference given to individuals with experience in defining and implementing information systems in a multi-location, multidisciplinary environment generally gained by having held similar positions within a major hospital, managed health or health insurance organization. Must possess a general understanding of laws, regulations and quality assurance standards, which impact health care.

    • Minimum of five (5) years of application / tool support and project management responsibilities. Extensive project management experience and ability to apply appropriate project management methodology. Extensive client management knowledge and experience in order to manage full product lifecycle, from inception/charter to sunset.

    • Broad operational knowledge of healthcare and data linkages across clinical, financial, and patient administrative areas. Management experience with IS development, support or consulting within a health care related environment is preferred.

    • Demonstrated superior communication (verbal and written), human relations, management, and presentation skills.

    • Extensive knowledge of and experience in planning and formulating strategies (i.e., process improvement, desired application/tool functionality, organizational structures and planning, etc.)

    • Strong analytical, organizational and strong group process skills.

    • Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

    • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities, and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs).

    • This position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature controlled and free from hazards.

    • Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations on product support issues.

    • Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication.

    • The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions.

    • The incumbent must be capable of traveling in the course of completing project and training assignments.

    • Responsible for director level on call escalation - 24x7x365.

    • Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites (20%) as needed (may or may not apply).
