    Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Divisional Manufacturing Project Engineer - Industry 4.0 for their Crouse Hinds business. This position may be based at one of the following manufacturing facilities: Syracuse, NY; Roanoke, VA or La Grange, NC and offers relocation assistance.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year.

    What you'll do:

    Position Overview:

    Reporting directly to the Director of Operations for Crouse-Hinds and functionally to the Global Director of Operations Strategy, this role will be responsible for the execution of the advanced manufacturing strategy across all 6 manufacturing facilities. You will support the critical strategic growth initiatives, footprint optimization, automation and 'Industry 4.0' transformation. Additional responsibilities may include process conceptualization, feasibility assessments, and process validation.

    Essential Functions:

    • Work with all teams in the division to develop a comprehensive strategy for the division focused on needs of the business and cost contributors/constraints.

    • Participate in and help execute manufacturing improvement strategies around footprint optimization, automation constraints management and product growth in coordination with the Product Line Managers

    • Identify and implement key initiatives to drive Industry 4.0 deployment and maturity with GEIS's Crouse-Hinds group

    • Prepare capital and operating cost estimates for new products and changes in existing products by estimating equipment, tooling, and gauging investment. Determine machine production rates and manning requirements.

    • Lead formulation of manufacturing documentation, fabrication drawings, process sheets, control plans and tool layouts; will include global alignment to standardize processes and technologies

    • Collaborate with corporate supply chain team and the sites to write and submit appropriation requests approval (CAR) for new and replacement equipment, track, and report on project spending

    • Review and evaluate product designs and recommend changes to facilitate manufacturability and assembly processes

    • Manage global capacity files for current and new business. Minimize capital for new projects and maximize profitability through footprint analysis.

    • Conceptualize, develop, and approve designs of special tools, assembly lines, machines, and gauges for manufacturing processes

    • Coordinate and perform machine / assembly process runoffs to measure process with capability analysis using SPC at vendor's and Eaton's facility and supervise in-house installations

    • Utilize Eaton's project management tool (ProLaunch) to lead transitions from project to operations through training and informing operators, quality control technicians, front line leaders, and management on improved process techniques and new manufacturing concepts

    • Work with purchasing and product engineering to develop rough and finish material drawings for purchased material vendors

    • Meet with team members and present current equipment, process development, and appropriation spending progress on projects at regular design review committee meetings

    • Ensure ALL requirements are met in accordance with Environmental Health and Safety System in relation to overall production process, machine specifications and operator ergonomics

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution

    • Minimum of seven (7) years' engineering work experience in a manufacturing production environment involving automation

    • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

    • The position falls under the ITAR regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ten (10) years' engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment

    • Prior hands-on experience with production Welding, stamping, tooling, machining, grinding, and assembly equipment

    • Extensive experience in tool and manufacturing process development with knowledge of CAD

    • Automation / Simulation / Budgetary/ Cost Analysis experience

    • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

    • Familiarity with problem solving methodologies, e.g., 8D, 5 Why, A3

    • Electrical industry experience

    Skills:

    Position Criteria:

    • Up to 25% travel

    • Strong sense of urgency, ownership and effective communication skills

    • Excellent communication skills to enable multi-site support at all levels within the organization (mainly plants Manufacturing Engineering), as well as, externally with component and capital equipment suppliers

    • Execution of strategic projects and ability to provide detailed summaries

    • Ability to align technical with business view

    • Familiarity with Environmental Health & Safety

    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to learn from technical experts and apply new knowledge
