  • The Center for Technology in Education (CTE) is recruiting applicants for an Educational Consultant for Research who will work with researchers studying various early childhood topics such as school readiness, teacher well-being, teacher motivation, and similar topics.

    CTE implements a wide range of technical assistance, professional development, and research-based initiatives that support selected international, federal, state, and local education and leadership projects. The primary function of this position is to collaborate and lead in 1) the development and finalization of research-related grant deliverables, including but not limited to literature reviews and presentations for national conferences; 2) data collection, review, and analysis; and 3) research and analysis to identify and develop valid and reliable measurement tools.

    The successful candidate will have expertise in working collaboratively with other researchers and partners, qualitative and quantitative research methods, writing for professional publications and a wide variety of audiences, connecting research findings with practical implications, and effective time- and project-management skills.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    • The research consultant will, at times, work independently and at times collaboratively with other researchers to complete grant deliverables.

    • This role requires independent management of work schedules, production timelines, and deadlines.

    • The primary duties related to subject matter expertise include synthesizing educational research and composing literature reviews, developing research posters and abstracts for local and national presentations and conferences, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data using research software, developing and describing meaningful findings and implications based on research outcomes, identifying valid and reliable measures, and collaborating in the development of measurement scales.

    • The candidate will plan strategic processes for completing grant activities and working with key personnel to develop dissemination strategies for research content.

    • Attend project management planning meetings with lead researcher and provide documentation and data for progress reporting and evaluation.

    Additional Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with others.

    • Strong written communication skills, including manuscript development is proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methods.

    • Strong understanding of Internal Review Board procedures.

    • Experience writing manuscripts, including literature reviews.

    • Able to work independently to develop project timelines, milestones, and complete deliverables.

    • Proficient in the use of online communication tools, research search engines, Microsoft Office software and database and analytics software.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's Degree required.

    • Two years of experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience writing and publishing peer-reviewed literature.

    • Experience researching and writing about early childhood topics.

    • Data collection, organization, and analysis skills.

    • A minimum of five years related experience researching and writing about educational topics.

    • Ten years of experience in teaching and education.

    • Expertise in early childhood education.

    • Experience in developing print and online materials related to leadership, workforce development, and systems change.

    • Proficiency with problem-solving, decision-making, and project management.

    • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines with a high level of decision-making.

    • Strong organizational, administrative, and teamwork skills.

    • The ability to analyze information using databases and statistical analytics software.

    • Familiarity with local, federal, and state early childhood policies.

    • Understanding early childhood technical assistance models and other supports for the early childhood workforce.
