    SUMMARY

    The EHS Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of UBM Manufacturing Center occupational health, safety and environmental strategy, policies, related training programs as well as the effective implementation of those policies. Will administer day to day operations of the site EHS function. The incumbent will be expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solving ability to develop EHS programs for the improvement of the overall EHS strategy at assigned sites. Serves as a change agent.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Oversight and management of site/geographical occupational health, safety and environmental policies and develops and implements site wide EHS programs and procedures to comply with regulatory and company requirements.

    • Review and analyze historical safety data for trends to identify areas for improvement. Create and generate reports and metrics for management to communicate results versus target and monitor data for emerging trends

    • Ensure appropriate EHS training has been developed. Coordinating, and/or conducting EHS training programs as needed.

    • Provide coaching and guidance to site managers, supervisors and employees on EHS policies and expectations. Act as subject matter expert on safety regulatory compliance, safety procedures and safety policies.

    • Oversee accurate and timely occupational safety recordkeeping, reporting, and document retention for the enterprise.

    DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

    Education

    • BS or BA in safety, engineering, or related field; an advanced degree preferred.

    Certifications

    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus

    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is a plus

    Experience

    • Bachelor degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience

    • Master degree with 3+ years of experience

    • Doctoral degree with 0-2 years of experience

    • Proven ability to formulate and execute site-wide policies and processes.

    • Strong influencing and leadership skills designed to resolve complex company issues and affect behavioral change.

    • Excellent collaboration skills in working with subject matter experts to improve safety culture throughout site.

    • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills to manage and execute large scale safety projects with high financial impact to the company.

    • Preference given to those with experience with Safety Management Systems

    • Computer skills, communication capability, interpersonal skill sets, ability to multi-task in fast paced environment, etc}

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

    Ability to utilize a computer, telephone, fax and copy machine as well as other general office equipment. Strong computer skills are required.
