As an Electrical Engineer at DRS' Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems (EOIS) division, you will support development and test of world-class products that directly impact the Warfighter's effectiveness and survivability. You will interface with industry leading subject matter experts from a variety of disciplines including systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and test engineering to transition complex ideas into revolutionary products. You will be directly involved in product/circuit design, troubleshooting, and test development.
Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 0-2 years
U.S. Citzenship is required
Familiar with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and similar lab test and debug equipment
Comfortable testing and troubleshooting complex problems in a laboratory environment
Familiar with scripting languages and analysis tools such as MATLAB
Experience developing and supporting simple software programs in Visual Basic or C/C++
Experience designing circuit card assemblies
Experience with schematic capture tools (Cadence, Mentor, Altium, other)
Strong documentation and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Familiar with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Duties and Responsibilities
Able to read electronic circuit schematics and component datasheets
Able to understand circuit card layout methods and use PWB artwork to aid in troubleshooting and test
Able to communicate clearly - both written and verbal
Able to read/understand software source code and use for troubleshooting and test
Able to develop new software as required to aid in product validation and test
Able to work independently and drive tasks to completion
Able to assist with manufacturing/procurement activities to include Request for Purchase (RFP) generation
Able to work with configuration management tools to release drawings and create engineering change requests
Able to follow instructions, solve problems, and document results
