    Position Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Engineer based in Savannah, GA. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, installing, and testing electrical systems. These power systems include hybrid switching power supplies, motor control systems with variable frequency drives, PLC controls, HMI, and associated auxiliary systems. The engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and testing these systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in motor controls and be knowledgeable of Siemens TIA Portal Software platforms for PLC control. The engineer shall have an electrical engineer degree or equivalent work experience as substitute.

    Required skills and qualifications

    5 or more years of experience in electrical design and electrical engineering

    Ability to design, develop, and implement electrical systems

    Experience with PLC programming and HMI development

    Proficient with electronics design and testing

    Knowledge of safety systems and procedures

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Control Systems and Integration

    Strong focus on Quality Control

    Boundaries (Land and Safety)

    Team Leadership

    Preferred skills and qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or associated field

    Ability to analyze and troubleshoot electrical and electronic system processes

    Experience in software development and platform implementation

    Experience with E3 or comparable electrical design software

    Project and team management experience

    PE Certification

    Responsibilities

    Candidate will work with several business units from across the globe to analyze, design, and develop solutions for various types of hybrid energy systems that power Konecranes equipment and ancillary systems.

    Candidate shall be able to read, understand, and analyze existing electrical schematics and capable of designing new or retrofit schematics.

    Candidate will troubleshoot and modify existing electrical systems requiring field work in Port and Intermodal facilities throughout North, Central, and South America.

    Candidate will create complete and comprehensive documentation for any system modification including bill of materials, schematics, termination lists, and required protection devices.

    Adherence to company safety requirements, policies, and documentation

    Excellent record keeping and communication skills are essential.
