    Miller Electric is seeking an innovative and driven Electrical Engineer that will focus on continuous improvement of our industrial welding products. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering teams, operations/manufacturing, customer support and marketing to efficiently support our products.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Primary responsibilities include product support of our industrial welding and induction power sources, wire feeders, and related accessories.

    • Involvement in electrical hardware product support activities including circuit analysis, component selection, prototyping, qualification testing, troubleshooting, reliability testing, third-party compliance testing and documentation.

    • Collaborate actively with other electrical engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, welding engineers and lab technicians to support our products.

    • Communicate with Manufacturing/Operations, Product Management, Customer Service, and our end users to improve current products and assure customer satisfaction.

    • Contribute actively to team discussions, taking ownership of designated action items and ensuring the timely delivery of project goals and deliverables.

    • Ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.

    • Electrical Engineering internship experience.

    • Foundational understanding of electrical design aspects, which may include analog and digital circuits, power conversion, communications, human-machine interface, device and component selection and qualification, PCB design and assembly.

    • Demonstrate the ability to use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical product issues.

    • Ability to use circuit modeling and simulation tools if needed.

    • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across manufacturing personnel, operations, materials, and engineering disciplines to provide support for products.

    • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively as an individual or in a team environment.

    • This position is full-time, onsite in Appleton, WI.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Preferred:

    • 1-5 years of industry experience.

    • Experience designing and testing to 3rd party (UL/CSA/CE) standards.

    • Knowledge of insulation requirements between circuits (materials, creepage, clearance, dielectric strength).

    • Magnetics design experience including flyback, forward, and full bridge transformers as well as inductors.

    • Experience in mixed-signal embedded hardware design including signal conditioning for high-speed/precision signals in a power conversion setting, signaling across multiple insulation boundaries, and gate driver power supplies.

    • Knowledge of PCB layout considerations for switch mode power supplies

    • Working knowledge of power conversion control systems
