Embedded Feature Development Software Engineer

This position is for a Model Based Design development engineer in support of the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Development and Validation Tools team, within Ford's Product Development In-Vehicle Infotainment & Connectivity (IVIC) organization.
The position will support the creation of embedded software, utilizing a Model Based Design (MBD) development approach, which is used in various IVI development tools and test systems. These systems or test tools are distributed globally to development teams across Ford and its development partners.
The selected candidate will work closely with existing team members to progress and mature projects through the Ford Motor Company Global Production Development System (GPDS) to ensure deliverables to the downstream IVI development organizations meet expected requirements and deliverables.
Projects vary from year to year. Current projects support development and testing of next generation SYNC, embedded modem development and testing, vehicle cloud connectivity development and testing, mobile app development and integration testing, as well as multiple additional In-Vehicle Infotainment development projects.
Support new feature development used in test and validation tools for In-Vehicle Infotainment hardware and software feature development and testing.
Propose, create, release, and/or support of new applications.
Gather feature requirements from feature owners and validation teams and create the feature implementation plan.
Support development of vehicle features in modeling environment.
Develop Simulink models from feature specifications and feature implementation plan.
Develop features following AUTOSAR guidelines.
Support feature validation in Simulink environment.
Support auto-code generation from Simulink feature models.
Write requirement-based test cases for developed code.
Validate the feature functionality in the appropriate deployment platform.
Troubleshoot and debug defects as reported by users.
Troubleshoot the issues using CAN tools like CANoe, VehicleSpy, etc.
Bachelor of Science (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
2+ years of experience of modelling using MATLAB and Simulink
2+ years of experience with MATLAB Scripting
2+ years of experience working with State Flow
2+ years of experience with code generation using Real-Time Workshop (RTW)
2+ years of experience in unit level and system level testin.
2+ years of experience reading schematics and data sheets
Strong collaboration and communication skills is essential.
Experience in Agile development methodologies.
Experience using Vector tools, CANoe, CANAlyzer and automotive communication protocols like CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet.
Exposure to AUTOSAR layered architecture and or a functional understanding of the standard (3.x / 4.2).
Experience working with AUTOSAR RTE, MCAL, VFB etc.
