    As Hagerty grows, we continue to look for talented professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide holistic solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking an Emergency Management Specialist for potential future positions. This is a contract position that will be on-site at a state or local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field site. The ideal candidate should have a passion for emergency management, be a self-starter, and have the desire to solve complex preparedness problems for our clients. Individuals serving in this role will be working within an EOC, Incident Management Team (IMT), or at a field site. The Emergency Management Specialist will support the implementation of incident objectives across the incident and coordinate with various partner agencies and Emergency Support Functions (ESFs).

    Candidates for the role of Emergency Management Specialist must possess the following qualifications:

    • The desire to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

    • A bachelor-s degree or higher.

    • At least two (2) years of professional experience in emergency management operations or a related field.

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

    • An understanding of the emergency management system and how jurisdictions coordinate together during large-scale incidents.

    • The ability to facilitate daily meetings with a wide range of stakeholders.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).

    • The ability to provide summary products for leadership.

    • A willingness to be on-site working with a client for more than one month.

    • The ability to work 12-hour shifts as needed based on the client-s operational tempo.

    • The ability able to remain calm and poised under pressure, work successfully on multiple priorities simultaneously, and remain focused when working under tight deadlines.

    Candidates for the role of Emergency Management Specialist may also have the following qualifications:

    • Experience researching complex issues and presenting outcomes and insights to a supervisor or large audience.

    • Experience working as part of an IMT.

    • The ability to be flexible and demonstrate integrity, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all endeavors.

    • Experience implementing incident objectives with a diverse set of agencies and stakeholders.

    • Experience working as part of an Operations Section on a previous disaster.

    • Training as an Operations Section Chief or Operations Section Position-Specific courses.

    Salary Range: $65,000-$100,000

    Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
