This position is full time, reports to the Project Executive, and is considered Non-Exempt for purposes of the FLSA.
Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the intern is to be a student with an interest in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels and institutional facilities, who works during the internship to further education and experience.
This position is a paid internship position working with estimating, the project team or management. Juniors and Seniors majoring in Mechanical Engineering are invited to apply.
Â· Create a master checklist of expectations and goals to use as a guide throughout the internship and then used as an evaluation at completion.
Â· Assist the departments and team with all aspects of the projects and estimating or business operations.
Â· Participate in special tasks / projects and work with team and various resources to complete.
Â· Assist by collecting information, creating and updating files, documents, spreadsheets, databases, reports and schedules.
Â· Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
Â· Attend departmental and job site meetings.
Â· Perform tasks under the supervision of an Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, or departmental staff.
Â· Participate in any learning experiences offered such as orientations, lunch & learns, outings, jobsite tours, safety inspections, etc.
Â· Study meeting notes, policies and procedures to learn the company way.
Â· Attends the exit interview, providing feedback on the experience.
Skills & Requirements
Â· Must be enrolled in an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering with a Junior or Senior classification.
Â· Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
Â· Ability to be punctual.
Â· Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
Â· Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
Â· Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.
Â· Must have respect for tools, equipment, supplies and be safety conscious.
