    Position Summary

    Provides leadership and supervises a team of engineers, and/or technical support personnel who support the power generation operations. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, including review of engineering designs/solutions, making job assignments, coordinating with other departments, and employee development. Serves as a point of contact for external and internal customers.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Operational Effectiveness: Provide direct leadership over team effectiveness, quality and productivity. Establish clear performance expectations, effectively manage performance, and drive employee engagement. Assist in removing barriers and provide coaching to complete work. Ensure correct team composition and skills are in place to meet operational, reliability, customer, and financial objectives. May participate in addressing bargaining unit issues, grievances, corrective actions, and future development.

    • Safety: Provide visible safety leadership and drives real time safety accountability by engaging employees/crew through safety meeting facilitation, job briefs, audits, training, accident investigation/event assessment, and job site observations. Work in close partnership with Safety Consultant.

    • Provide leadership in overseeing process improvements to enhance the power generating assets' performance, reliability, and optimization. Monitor plant/equipment performance criteria and control measures, conduct event assessment and root cause analysis for formulate solutions, implement solutions, and seek innovative technology improvements.

    • Responsible for non-capital modifications to plant/generating equipment, configuration control, and compliance with applicable codes (boiler, high-pressure piping, fire protection, etc.) and environmental regulations. Participate in preparing forecasts, budget development/management, and provide input to longer-term work plans.

    • Represent the department as the point of contact for and establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers and coordinate departmental activities with those customers.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required from an accredited university.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power generation engineering, original equipment manufacturing (OEM), power generation operations/maintenance, or equivalent experience in a closely related industrial/manufacturing environment.

    • Technical knowledge of power generation engineering, design, and technical support is desired.

    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling tools. Selection process may include testing and/or assessment.

    Non-Bargaining

    The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $92,300.00 to $130,566.66 per year
