About the job Responsible for technical functions in support of product development lab engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, assembly, characterization, functional validation, and electrical analysis of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, specialized test equipment, and/or IC devices. Uses test and diagnostic equipment, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts and/or defined plans to perform operational testing, checkout, and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Maintains lab processes and documentation in accordance with IATF 16949. Primary responsibilities: + Proactively maintain safe, clean, and organized lab environment + Assist lab manager in driving of ESH, ESD, HV, quality and security policies + Lab system mastery of scheduling tools such as LITS, Cherwell (scheduling), Sharepoints, Reservation systems (LMS, TREX) and ability to assist users + Move equipment, update equipment status, add equipment and conduct lab audit + Basic repair of Test systems, instruments and Lab owned equipment + Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected failures of lab owned equipment + Debug/Repair/Validate or RMA. Work with vendors on outstanding issues as appropriate. + Perform operational checks and preventative maintenance on lab owned or supported equipment + Demonstrate understanding of lab owned equipment, assets, and instruments specs and operation to effectively advise lab users on using including specialty assets + Effectively setup and take down setups for lab owned equipment, assets and Instruments Qualifications Minimum requirements: + Associate's degree in electronics, related technical discipline or equivalent military electronics training + Fundamental knowledge of basic electronics, basic technical science, and applied electrical Preferred qualifications: + 2 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment technician experience (school or job related) + Self-driven with ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision + Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and working under various distractions and constraints + Ability to learn and understand electro-mechanical systems + Outstanding troubleshooting skills on electrical/mechanical systems + Exceptional attention to detail + Experience with bench and automated test equipment + Experience with soldering + Ability to learn automation and scripting in support of lab functions + Ability to read and diagnose PCB schematics + Ability to read datasheets (equipment and device) + Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions + Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery + Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills To be considered for this position, please apply.
