Engineering Technician

Descpription

In this position the material testing technician will be involved with field observation, inspecting and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt placement. Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians and project managers. The candidate should have the knowledge an ability to perform observations, inspections and tests of construction projects and to document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in CMT related fields

• familiarity with testing methods

• Ability to multitask and organize

• Ability to handle physical workload

• Ability to work well in teams

Responsibilities

• You will perform testing of various construction materials including soils, concrete, asphalt and aggregates

• perform testing according to relevant engineering standards, ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, Etc.

• Record daily reports for each jobsite visited each day and transmit reports to office weekly

• track all equipment and supplies

• perform other duties as assigned

• Adhere to OSHA standards

Construction Materials, Inspector, Tester, Test Technician, Quality, ACI, ICC, NICET

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required;

• 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, and/or asphalt materials preferred;

• If not currently certified, willingness to obtain International Code Council (ICC), American Concrete institute (ACI)
