Entry-Level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Laboratory Technician

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine laboratory testing of construction materials, meticulously preparing specimens for testing, and upholding high standards of quality control under the guidance of senior technical staff. Collaborating with the team, you will work towards obtaining technician certifications from industry organizations such as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA), and the American Concrete Institute (ACI). Maintaining precise records of testing procedures, operating laboratory equipment, and actively engaging in ongoing training for skill enhancement will be integral to your success in contributing to the overall efficiency of the laboratory.

You bring to the team:

Required

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.

• Adept in verbal and written communication.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• No specific industry experience required, but a genuine interest in construction materials testing is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows programs.

• Willingness to pursue and obtain technician certifications from reputable industry groups such as ODOT, OTA, ACI, and others.

• Valid driver's license with a good driving history.

• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Preferred, but not required:

• Associatesdegree from a technical or four-year school.

• Experience in construction or a laboratory setting.
