  • Summary

    Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the shop floor schedule and management of steel inventory to meet on time shipments, ensure efficient workflow, and maintain optimal levels of inventory.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Visibly support and maintain a culture of safety while following all safety processes

    • Assist in planning and smooth flow of orders through the plant by assuring availability of the direct materials, tooling, and supplies needed to support current and future production schedules.

    • Manage production work order releases to the shop floor and coordination of completion.

    • Manage steel inventory to meet shipment schedules, plan steel purchases, issue purchase orders for steel components and manage relationships with steel suppliers.

    • Maintain MRP records and data sets as required.

    • Support all production activities by working with the supervisory staff and operators in multiple departments to safely achieve outcomes and meet quality requirements; on-time delivery goals; and cost improvement targets.

    • Maintain a positive attitude and while building and maintaining relations with employees to facilitate the smooth flow of orders

    • Facilitate the gathering of data and preparation of reports on the KPI's for the manufacturing process.

    • Work closely with Engineering and Product Management as needed to support new product and processes.

    • Engage in effective continuous improvement problem-solving process with administrative and shop floor teams to improve order and information flow

    • Adhere to and uphold all Fairbanks Scales policies and procedures.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

    • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

    • Have at least three to five years of directly related manufacturing experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook

    • Able to multitask and effectively manage priorities

    • Possess exceptional attention to detail.

    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

    • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and external contacts.

    • Ability to establish effective working relations with key stakeholders and plant personnel

    Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

    • General manufacturing environment. Periodic exposure to high noise levels and some outdoor working conditions
