Micron is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with Facilities Semiconductor design, construction and commissioning experience to support major design and construction projects, including a new High Volume Manufacturing plant located in Boise, ID. Become a part of a dedicated projects team to provide high-quality engineering services and leadership while supporting a company culture of Safety, Innovation, and Customer Focus.

    Mechanical Engineering requires the successful candidate to be a standout colleague who also takes ownership and drives success of designated areas of responsibility. Good written and verbal English communication skills are also required.

    Mechanical Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning including :

    • Review of Design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

    • Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of mechanical systems in NavisWorks 3D model relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.

    • Validation of engineering calculations

    • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff

    • Review and validation of construction RFI responses

    • Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models

    • Field engineering QA during construction

    • Commissioning support

    • Entry of system information into a capacity planning software

    • Ensuring compliance with Micron standards, Micron specifications, codes industry standards, best known methods.

    • Review lessons learned from other Micron sites for incorporation into ID1 Design.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent work experience

    • Excellent analytical and good decision making skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization

    • Excellent partnership and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally

    • Confirmed ability to solve problems across multi-functional and multi-cultural groups within and outside facilities

    • Shown ability to multi-task and lead team to meet complicated deadlines and goals

    • Shown ability to continuously improve systems and processes

    • Ability to develop strong relationships from multi-functional and multi-cultural groups

    Additional Job Responsibilities:

    Provides engineering for semiconductor manufacturing site facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, including semiconductor tool installations and R&D applications, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Completes engineering for requested changes to develop estimates for design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs for semiconductor manufacturing sites, including R&D applications. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
