About the Job The role of this intern position is to identify physical defect mechanisms of yield/reliability issues that arise during semiconductor technology development. Candidates should be able to perform physical/electrical failure analysis and determine the root causes of various failure modes in electronic devices using material analytical techniques and fault isolation tools. Candidates should have a strong understanding of material science and characterization, device physics and electrical device characterization. Hands on experience with analytical tools, including TEM, SEM, FIB, and EMMI/OBIRCH is preferred. Candidates will have to collaborate with his/her peers and leverage their experience and available resources. This intern position is open to college graduate students in an MS or PhD in electrical engineering, material science and engineering, or physics. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Material Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics * Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA, or higher Preferred Qualifications: * Proven ability in analytical material characterization and electrical device characterization * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions * Ability to take the initiative and drive for results * Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment * Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships * Coursework providing knowledge and background in semiconductor processing, process control methodology and/or device failure analysis.
