  • Responsibilities

    Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Computer Engineer or Software Developer to supporting a new Navy Submarine Program.

    Noblis MSD is seeking a Computer Engineer / Developer to join our team supporting new system development for a new U.S. Navy submarine program. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new long-term program and help develop the program's I/T requirements; providing system development from project start and the design phase. The candidate's responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

    1. Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software requirements for new shipboard products. Use current programming languages and technologies to write code, perform testing, and debug applications. Candidates should be familiar with various OO languages such as .Net, Python, JAVA and/or C/C++.

    2. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Interact with stakeholders / users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

    3. Provide technical evaluation of hardware/software based on technical requirements.

    4. Provide expertise with operating system installation and setup (Windows and Linux). Develop and utilize scripts for automating repetitive installation and configuration tasks.

    5. Setup and test Virtual Machine environments.

    6. Deploy software and firmware updates to various hardware devices. Maintain version control.

    7. Perform quality assurance testing of hardware and software components. Identify, document, and resolve bugs/issues.

    8. Stay updated on the latest security standards and apply them diligently. Communicate with cybersecurity leads as required throughout system development.

    This will be a hybrid position and while you will not be required to be in the office on a set basis you should be local to come in quickly as the need arises.

    Required Qualifications

    • BS Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

    • Minimum of 4 years professional experience in Computer Science / IT / Software Engineering related field.

    • One of the following certifications: CISSP (or associate), CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH.

    • Demonstrated ability to write computer code (object-oriented programming)

    • Proficiency with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, including the installation and configuring of software applications.

    • Proficient with Communication Protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, etc.)

    • Skilled with Virtual Machine (VM) setup and management.

    • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Prior US Navy experience desired.

    • Experience with DOD Cyber Security protocols.

    Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis' total compensation package for employees.

    USD $74,500.00 - USD $130,400.00 /Yr.
