    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly skilled, detail oriented Infrared Sensor Engineering Technician D to join us in creating advanced Focal Plane Arrays (FPAs). The ideal candidate will have experience working with Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) specifically at the packaging level. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating test dewars and FPAs in preparation for sensor test and characterization, along with tracking part inventory and working with engineers to debug FPAs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Wire bonding FPAs

    • Inspecting and cleaning FPAs

    • Assembling dewars based on mechanical drawings

    • Tracking FPAs along the build process

    • Maintaining dewar and FPA part inventories

    • Debugging FPAs

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

    Qualifications:

    • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior experience in either ASIC packaging or electrical troubleshooting or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

    • Ability to maneuver test equipment up to 25 lbs

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Experience with wire bonding ASICs

    • Prior experience with hardware and database data entry

    • Soft skills (I.E. Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication...)

    • Previous experience in mechanical assembly - ability to build test equipment per mechanical drawings

    • Experience using a digital multimeter (DMM) - continuity checks, voltage measurements, etc.
