    What you will do

    professional activities with Volvo Construction Equipment by working on important and innovative projects. This role is working within Uptime, a global department responsible for repair and maintenance products and technical support, warranties, logistics, connected and sustainable energy services.

    The Uptime Communications Intern is tasked with aiding in the achievement of Volvo CE's Uptime objectives through the creation and sharing of clear and efficient communications - within the team, throughout Volvo CE and into the Volvo CE Dealerships. Current initiatives around market research, customer-centricity and best practice sharing will be in high focus. The candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment and have daily interaction with members of the Uptime team and others within the organization to develop and distribute content. This is a summer internship to start in May and end in August, at dates to be determined individually. It is possible for the internship to continue into the next semester if agreed by all parties. All Volvo Group North America internships are compensated with a competitive salary.

    In this role, the intern can expect to lead or be involved with the following:

    • Write and edit content such as news articles, infographics, social media posts, reports and presentations

    • Work with regional and global colleagues to develop and execute on communication plans for strategic projects

    • Share best practices and success stories to support customer understanding and satisfaction

    • Gather and develop Uptime related material for various multi-media channels such as plasma screens, newsletters, intranet, social media

    • Produce and edit videos

    • Edit and design digital newsletters

    • Manage communication channels

    • Support event coordination and execution

    • Take on-site photography

    • Proactively identify areas for improvement in systems and processes related to communication

    • Other duties as may be assigned

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management, or similar and in school full-time.

    • Must be pursuing their degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.

    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75

    • Demonstrable experience in media communications including social media

    • Prefer experience prioritizing work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

    • Have proven interpersonal communication skills

    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Preferred experience in Adobe design products, SharePoint, PowerApps and/or Teams

    • Ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
