    The Environmental & Airframe Control Systems (EACS) business unit within Power and Controls BU for Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Systems Integration Project Team (SIPT) Engineer to join our team in Windsor Locks, CT.

    This position is in the International, Business and Regional Jet (IRBJ) Value Stream, which responsible for Pneumatic and Environmental Controls for International and regional Jet OEM and Airline Customers. OEM Customers include Korean Aerospace (KAI), Airbus, Embraer, DeHavilland, XCAC MA700 and Boeing X-66. The SIPT engineer will work with the Value Stream Lead (VSL) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) driving successful execution of commitments providing transparent communications and delivering world class customer service.

    This primary role for the SIPT engineer is leading the engineering execution for both the KAI KF-21 fighter aircraft development program and the Boeing X-66 Sustainable Flight Demonstrator know and the Transonic Truss Brace Wing (TTBW). In this role, the SIPT engineer will focus on the technical execution of program requirements throughout the design, development, and verification for the KF-21 EMD phase and X-66 Flight demonstration. The SIPT engineer will be a key component of a multi-disciplined engineering team, providing expertise and guidance on operations and support of the IRBJ platform Value Stream within EACS.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • As SIPT lead, you will lead Systems Engineering development (architecture, requirements, design and analysis, integration, component team and test) to execute program requirements and support critical internal and external customer deliverables.

    • Develop system level test procedures and ensure technical execution and generate reports.

    • Review flight test data, work with component and controls teams as applicable to drive root cause corrective action.

    • Ensure that all export requirements are followed per global trade

    • Ensure that components and systems will meet safety and functional requirements for successful flight testing.

    • Requirements development & management, including verification & validation of system level requirements, and compliance deliverables to the customer.

    • Work with teams to develop schedules in MS Project and assess and manage critical path.

    • Drive reliability improvement and cost reduction projects.

    • Track/report budgets and resource plans.

    • Ensuring appropriate communications are provided to senior management at Collins and Customer for any ongoing or emerging issues, support risk and opportunity management process with IPT.

    • Prepare and participate in meetings at the working level, senior management level, and periodic exposure to executive level.

    • Effectively employ Standard Work within the Collins Management System across specific projects/programs

    Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Project management experience with ability to manage plans, schedules, and teams

    • Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries with Product Line Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Drafting, and Procurement

    • Technical understanding of the system and components within the system.

    • Familiarity with thermodynamics and fluid dynamics

    • Experience in design process and functional requirements

    • Experience preparing and presenting informal and formal briefings

    • Experience with presenting to executives and customers.

    • Background in supporting or leading Root Cause investigations

    • Project Engineering experience

    • Prior Systems Integration or Systems Engineering experience

    • 5 years Aerospace industry experience preferred

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
