Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) support the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 24 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications; develops new technologies that advance University's core mission; builds, upgrades and maintains the University's network; operates the University's Data Center and help desk; develops disaster recovery and business continuity plans; and leads the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning Project (ERP), which integrates 25 university systems, covering student administration, financial management, and human resources.
Reporting to the PeopleSoft Finance Solutions Manager, the PeopleSoft Procurement Lead will be a functional application support specialist responsible for day-to-day functional-techno application support. The PeopleSoft Procurement Lead offers superior client support, promotes and ensures consistent performance of deployed services and in coordination with others and supports the application change control process. Support and trains for rollout of new modules or enhancements; and collaborate with various cross-functional IT teams to implement solutions, program modification and process transactions.
The PeopleSoft Procurement Lead's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Acts as a functional resource in the technical upgrade, business process management, and analysis and design configuration of the PeopleSoft Financials/Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules.
-Analyzes customizations to retrofit to delivered product as much as possible.
-Collaborates with Pillar Support Leads, managers and others to facilitate processes, projects, installations and formulation of operating policies and procedures, especially in relation to CUNYfirst and the PeopleSoft Financials/SCM pillar.
-Creates queries for users as well as queries in order to troubleshoot issues.
-Creates and takes lead in gathering functional requirements and suggests industry best-practice solutions.
-Develops functional design documents based on business requirements.
-Evaluates and analyzes user requests and requirements for new or modified program to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems and computing capabilities.
-Manages system administration and supports activities focused on the Req-to-Pay,Travel and Expense portion of the CUNYfirst PeopleSoft implementation including testing, change control, monitoring utilization and triaging support. Other modules will include Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and eSupplier.
-Studies existing installation to evaluate effectiveness and develop new approaches to improve production or specifications as required.
-Supports the activities of CUNY-wide committees and discussion groups pertaining to CUNYfirst PeopleSoft support with particular emphasis on the Financials/SCM Support pillar.
-Support users through unit, integration, system and user testing.
-Troubleshoots and resolves functional issues, determines if functional requirements are met, develops action plans to correct deficiencies, works with technical teams to test, diagnose and isolate the root cause of problems, coordinates further diagnosis and tests as necessary and recommends and implements appropriate workarounds to complete functional/technical SCM service requests.
-Performs other duties as necessary.
Job duties require schedule flexibility and willingness to work evenings or weekends as required for systems-related tasks.
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT Application Support Lead with proven functional and technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
-Extensive working experience must be related to the job duties listed above in PeopleSoft Financials/Supply Chain Management 9 or higher in a lead role.
-Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to create queries.
-Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Application Designer.
-Experience in problem triage and resolution as applied to IT applications.
-Experience in production application change control practices and processes.
-Understanding of PeopleTools 8.5.x in the area of Workflow, SQR, PeopleCode, Application Engine, XML Publisher Upgrade Assistant and others.
-Understanding of the workings of Weblogic, Tuxedo, SFTP and BPEL in a PeopleSoft-hosted environment.
-Strong communication skills to interface with technical staff, administrative users, business process owners and other Information Resources managers.
-Exceptionally well-organized and able to effectively analyze and resolve complex problems while rendering sound resolutions, and have the ability to articulate goals and manage multiple resources and priorities.
-Ability to work productively as an individual contributor and collaboratively as a team member in a fastpaced, time-sensitive, customer-responsive, and team-oriented environment.

Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after July 1, 2019
City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after July 1, 2019 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period.
