    WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time, lead Civil Transportation Project Manager for our Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR offices. Be involved in projects with our Civil Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

    Your Impact

    Project/Design

    • Serve as Civil task lead on transportation projects for clients in the Pacific Mountain West District (Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam).

    • Lead project teams to achieve overall project objectives.

    • Work closely with clients to meet and exceed their expectations.

    • Support project managers to prepare, negotiate, and/or oversee scope, schedule and budget, changes and risk, as well as plans, specifications, estimates and/or bid packages.

    • Perform quality assurance/quality control, ensuring that cost, schedule, and quality objectives are met for engineering activities and are commensurate with quality standards and client requirements.

    • Coordinate with other design disciplines, and workshare with other offices across the West Coast and USA.

    • Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices.

    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

    People & Performance Leadership

    • Responsible to assist in the growth and development of the Civil Engineering/Roadway design team.

    • Mentor or supervise early career staff to support their growth and professional development.

    Business Development

    • Collaborate with other local offices and in-house national transportation delivery experts to provide clients with innovative and future-focused solutions.

    • Support transportation business development efforts, strategy development, client engagement and pursuits in the Pacific Mountain West District.

    • Engage with clients to develop new business leads and project pursuits (may include involvement in professional organizations).

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.

    • 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and civil design.

    • Engineer license required.

    • Proficient with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

    • Experience as a task lead on public and/or private sector projects.

    • Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

    • Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.

    • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

    • Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

    • Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

    • Highly proficient with technical writing, Microsoft Office suite, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D). First assignment would be in full time using ORD.

    • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

    • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

    • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

    • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.

    • Experience working with local agencies, State Department of Transportation, and/or Transit Agencies projects and their design standards.

    • Proficiency with roadway/highway design, alignments, profiles, 3D modeling.

    • Established client relationship and industry contacts.

    • Experience participating in business development strategy and implementation.

    • Multi state Professional Engineering license

    Compensation

    Expected Salary (all locations): $100,000 - $148,500

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
