    Role Value Proposition:

The Lead Data Analyst will use their data analytics expertise to deliver capabilities with MetLife's Security Posture Analytics team by designing, building, and maintaining data flows and unique and creative analytics products. Our analytics and automation products directly support detection and remediation of security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with vulnerability management teams and other stakeholders to define new analysis and reporting requirements, and design solutions.

    • Develop complex queries, reports, visualizations, and dashboards using vulnerability, weakness, configuration, and asset data aggregated from various sources.

    • Supervise the maintenance of analytics products that provide the comprehensive view of security issues from all sources across all assets in order to aid in remediation prioritization, metrics tracking and reporting, vulnerability impact analysis, alerting, and incident support.

    • Analyze vulnerability and asset data to provide actionable insights for driving more effective remediation strategies.

    • Perform data engineering tasks as needed for acquiring data from external and internal sources of record, typically in Python.

    • Troubleshoot and help resolve complex issues with data ingestion, queries, dashboards, and scripts.

    • Support and provide guidance to other team members on their responsibilities.

    • Lead or support additional projects as directed by cyber security management.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

    Required

    • 4 or more years hands on experience in Data Analytics role(s)

    • Experience gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements and designing creative analytic solutions. Able to work with stakeholders to refine ambiguous or incomplete requirements and suggest methodologies and components that the stakeholder did not specify, but will better answer their question, solve their problem, or tell their story.

    • Background in analyzing, querying, and summarizing large data sets to derive insightful analytics and support data-driven decision making. Ability to acquire data and validate its quality.

    • Experience providing support and guidance to teammates, particularly those less experienced

    • Produce work that is high quality, user-friendly, and thoroughly unit tested. Detail-oriented and meticulous, and a creative thinker.

    • Strong coding skills, particularly Python

    • Strong Splunk front-end experience or someone who has the ability to learn Splunk very quickly (should be delivering analytics independently using Splunk within one month of joining)

    • Strong Excel skills - formulas, pivot tables, etc (we don't deliver analytics in Excel, but it can be helpful for analyzing data)

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred

    • Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux server environments

    • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and processes

    • Experience working in complex, diverse and global (international) environments

    • Bachelor's in related field
