    ICF's Digital Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology department, seeking a Principal Database Developer to support upcoming needs with our federal customer.

    The Team:

    The Migration and Decommission team focuses on understanding the operational and archival needs of source systems, often aged Legacy systems with complex histories, designing end-to-end migration to more modern software system architecture/technologies, and detailing the end-of-life and decommissioning plans for the Legacy system.

    The Work

    As a member of the Migration and Decommission team, you will be responsible for building a thorough understanding of the source system's architecture, data, and operational needs. You will be responsible for analyzing, mapping, and integrating the Legacy system and data into the target operational systems.

    As the Principal Database Developer, you will ensure the integrity of the existing data and relationships are persisted to the target system. You will be responsible for mapping source and target table structures, identifying and designing solutions for technical incompatibilities between the source and target systems. You will be responsible for the construction and validation of the migration process' at each step for the data and database architecture.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Be able to work with clients, peers, and management in a highly visible, mission critical environment.

    • Be able to gather, organize, prioritize technical requirements.

    • Designing database structures & good understanding of data modeling.

    • Strong knowledge of Materialized views and query rewrite functionality.

    • Develop PL SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers.

    • Develop data transformation and validation scripts.

    • Develop Unix scripts for automatic processing of back-end jobs.

    • Maintenance of all database objects and purging process of large tables.

    • Performance tuning which impacts the UI and back-end jobs.

    • Work on product support on analysis, fix and patch release process.

    • Provide emergency production support to mission critical operations.

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree

    • 8+ years of experience with Oracle and MariaDB/MySQL databases

    • 8+ years of experience as a SQL Developer

    • 8+ years of experience designing and implementing a migration plan for large data sets and complex data architectures.

    • 8+ years of experience with integrating database operations with Business Process Modeling PaaS tools such as Appian

    Desired Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong sense of ownership

    • Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with debugging tools.

    • Should be willing to work as individual capacity and in teams across the organization.

    • Able to manage dependencies and timely manage priority.

    • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Open-minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations while being focused on delivery.

    Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

    $116,605.00 - $198,228.00
