    Mitsubishi Chemical America's Battery Materials Group is the world leader in electrolyte battery materials for electric cars and beyond. Located in Memphis, Tennessee, the Battery Materials Group is a fully integrated company for Sol-Rite formulated electrolytes used for lithium-ion batteries. Unique formulations are designed to meet customer needs and optimize battery performance. The Sol-Rite electrolyte formulation mainly consists of organic solvents such as ethylene carbonate and lithium salt electrolytes such as LiPF6. In addition, patented technologies and know-how are incorporated into the formulations to control the solid electrolyte interface on the cathode and anode.

    Job Purpose

    Participates in laboratory work necessary to assure that products are tested per operating procedures. Ensures that work is carried out by Lab Techs in an efficient and safe manner. Utilizes judgement in making adaption and modifications on all assignments.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Perform required analytical analysis on raw materials, in process material and final product and other samples as directed by the Lab

    • Approve in specification material for further If a material does not meet specification or violates SQC rules, a Lab Coordinator, Business Quality Manager or Operation Manager must be notified.

    • Assure that all laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained before

    • Support the QA/QC manager in activities required to maintain IATF 16949 certification.

    • Assuring all laboratory paperwork and equipment logbooks and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) entries are correct and

    • Create Certificate of Analysis documentation for customer review.

    • Flexibility to work a rotating day/night

    • Performs all other duties

    • Support and comply with all requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS).

    • Maintain Lab Safety standards and assure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • Must possess good organizational skills, strong computer skills, the ability to work well with others, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to negotiate in the best interest of the

    • Excellent Oral and written communication, ability to effectively present to senior

    • Must be PC proficient including Microsoft, Word, Excel, Power Point and

    • Ability to work independently and under time

    • Ability to work on multiple projects

    • Ability to drive functional, technical, and operational

    • Ability to inspire and drive team

    • Must be able to work around production and laboratory chemicals with proper

    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs (5 water).

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in chemistry preferred or equivalent 2 years laboratory experience working in the chemical

    • Experience working with a LIMS database system.

    • Experience in working with Statistical Quality Control (SQC) processes and control charts.

    • Experience working with analytical instrumentations, such as High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and Gas Chromatography (GC), IC, ICP and moisture analyzer and acid titration equipment.
