Required Skills:

Machine Learning Engineer Responsibilities

1. Research, build, design and develop new algorithms, software components, and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta's platforms.

2. Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous software solutions to mission critical inferential and decision problems by leveraging or developing state of the art statistical and machine learning.

3. Conduct design and code reviews, and analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

4. Use knowledge of Perl, PHP or Python

5. and background working with software operating system internals, file systems, programming language design, and compilers to complete projects they are assigned to.

6. Work on a range of classification and optimization problems, e.g.

7. payment fraud, click-through-rate prediction, search ranking, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation, and spam detection.

8. Gather data for machine-learning training, train new ranking models and run computational experiments.

9. Identify potential improvements in company's software and technology products through data analysis and mathematical modeling.

10. Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules based models.

11. Suggest, collect, and synthesize data requirements and create effective feature technology and computer product roadmap.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and two years of work experience in the job offered or in a engineering related occupation. Requires two years of experience in the following:

2. Algorithms, data structures, or systems software

3. Solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches

4. Gathering, manipulating, or analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

5. Communicating complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner

6. Research in topics closely related to machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, signal processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, or computer vision

7. Performing research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, or other modalities) and advances the technology of intelligent machines

8. Devising better data-driven models of human behavior

9. Adapting standard machine learning methods to best enterprise modern parallel environments: distributed clusters, multicore SMP, or GPU

10. Developing highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, statistics, regression, rules-based models, or mathematical models

11. Java, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python

$221,596/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
