  • The Manufacturing Engineer focuses on the design and operation of integrated systems and processes for the production of high-quality, and economically competitive products. These may include computer networks, machine tools, materials-handling equipment and production line modelling. They are to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing/assembly processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met. This role provides continuous development and implementation of improvements for the production process of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops principles and practices to improve manufacturing/assembly equipment and processes.

    • Determines and balances operational resources with customer demand and production schedules, develops standard operation times, and conducts time studies.

    • Budgets costs with design, developing and testing various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing/assembly methods; and/or oversees the sourcing of those applications.

    • Fosters and influences communication with key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members. Also, maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders.

    • Evaluates and recommends vendors, material, and equipment for changes to processes with justification and ROI analysis.

    • Performs process failure modes and effects analysis ((P)FMEA), KPI tracking, job safety analysis (JSA), develops design-for-manufacturing criteria (DFM) and process capability expertise to provide input to future product and process design activities etc. Also, provides ergonomic assessments of current and future processes/applications.

    • Develops procedures and plant arrangements to ensure proper material handling and storage.

    • Maintains working knowledge in the safe operating procedures for compressed natural gas and the various compliance requirements affiliated with CNG fuel systems.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelors degree, or 5 years' experience with, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, and/or equivalent experience, required.

    • 3 years of experience handling issues and problems in a project management role, preferred.

    • Drawing Interpretation - Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing/assembly process that meets product design specifications.

    • Time Studies - Develops plan for and conducts time studies of all manufacturing/assembly operations; analyses the data, identifies bottlenecks and utilizes Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiencies and product quality.

    • Process Documentation - Produces written procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.

    • Tool and Fixture Design - Selects and implements proper torque tools and work-piece-holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing/assembly process to secure their position to meet functional requirements.

    • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently as well as part of a team.

    • An ability to work with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

    USD $80,000.00/Yr.

    Maximum Pay Rate

    USD $100,000.00/Yr.
