    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

    Knowledgeable engineering resource to improve the competitiveness of the organization in a performance based team environment. Lead the full scope of project responsibilities to completion.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Support facility's Quality System and tactical plans.

    • Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment.

    • Drive continuous improvement, improved safety and cost reductions.

    • Participate in cross functional project teams and execute individual project tasks.

    • Perform mechanical/chemical testing and gauge R&R studies.

    • Statistically analyze data (eg: process capability, Design of Experiments).

    • Trouble-shoot processes, equipment and quality systems and develop/implement corrective and preventive actions.

    • Provide sound engineering and scientific judgment and decisions.

    • Knowledgeable on materials for GFO product designs in areas of responsibility.

    • Qualify and validate new material and suppliers, focusing on polymer formulations.

    • Effectively train manufacturing employees on specifications and processes.

    • Author CRs, protocols, technical reports and AFEs.

    • Technical interface with manufacturing teams.

    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Ability to translate technical documents to manufacturing operators.

    • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities.

    • Demonstrates strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, both internal and external.

    • Take initiative in learning new technologies and materials.

    • Customer focus, innovative, results oriented.

    • Ability to solve problems and conflicts, work well with others and demonstrate teamwork.

    • Demonstrates a solid work ethic and positive demeanor/attitude.

    • General knowledge of basic physics and chemistry.

    • Understands the properties and behaviors of different raw materials.

    • Basic knowledge of structure-property-process relationships of polymer systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Expertise in the following materials: plastics, polymers, chemicals, composites, metals, industrial minerals and rubber.

    • Hands on experience working in a polymer chemistry laboratory.

    • Experience in a regulated environment.

    • Experience with utilizing spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software.

    Minimum Educational Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science or technical field,

    or

    • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in polymer synthesis focused medical device manufacturing.

    Physical Demands:

    Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or worktables or bending, stooping, or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e., up to 30 lbs). Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

    Work Environment:

    May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes, requiring precaution. Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.

    Training Requirements:

    On-the-job, SOPs required for position and GMP.

Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.

    $71,900.00 - $118,600.00
