    The Opportunity

    The position of Manufacturing Engineer I is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located in Scarborough, Maine.

    The primary responsibility will be to support manufacturing process improvements, and quality/cost savings initiatives while assuring compliance with cGMP, quality, and safety standards.

    This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.

    What You'll Work On

    • Works to identify the root cause of manufacturing failures using structured problem-solving.

    • Evaluates machine logic, electromechanical systems, and process controls to troubleshoot equipment.

    • Supports design of experiments, validation, completion of testing, and analysis of data for continuous improvement activities.

    • Analyzes current equipment for process suitability and provides detailed improvement plans.

    • Creates and revises manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, procedures, and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient, and safe procedures.

    • Works with other engineers and technicians in developing solutions and improvements in materials, equipment, and processes as necessary.

    • Actively participates in teams as necessary to ensure continual improvement, safety, and compliance

    • Provides training to technicians and operators on Standard Operating Procedures.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or equivalent combination of education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment.

    • Engineering Electrical design experience

    • Familiarity with software related Database; CAD; Development; Internet software; Inventory; Manufacturing; Project Management software;

    • Familiarity with a variety of material testing and measuring methods.

    • Experience working in a GMP, FDA, ISO, and USDA-regulated environment.

    • Familiarity with statistical analysis software (Minitab).

    • Familiarity with cGMP and ISO 13485 regulations and practices.

    • Microsoft Excel software and Microsoft Word software.

    The base pay for this position is $48,000.00 - $96,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
