    The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and quality systems for medical devices. This includes developing and implementing new processes, optimizing existing processes, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing and quality issues, and ensuring that all medical devices are manufactured in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. In this role you will get an opportunity to learn from SMEs. You will be leading a project that will save hundreds of thousands of dollars.

    This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering department and will be located on-site at Lodi, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.

    • Work with other engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure that medical devices are manufactured in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

    • Develop and implement training programs for manufacturing and quality personnel.

    • Prepare and submit manufacturing validation protocols and reports.

    The essential requirements of the job include

    Education

    • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in degree in engineering, manufacturing, automation, or a related field

    Experience

    • Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD in a work environment.

    • Experience/Understanding of manufacturing quality systems.

    • Experience/Understanding with lean manufacturing principles.

    • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in

    • Understands technical drawings and GD&T

    • Automation project experience
