  • Eaton's Power Distribution Control & Assemblies division is currently seeking a Master Designer. This role is located in Fayetteville, NC. Relocation assistance will be provided.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $63,757 - $93,510 a year.

    Originate, develop, and check: complex mechanical and/or electrical design layouts, assemblies, test fixtures, detail and fabrication drawings, and/or schematic diagrams of products using computer-aided engineering systems. Apply proficient technical knowledge to design and develop assemblies through the application of diverse technical principles and practices. Direct the activities of detail drafters in support of the layouts established by higher-level designers / engineers. Create 3D CAD assembly models in support of the conceptual layouts.

    What you'll do:

    • Work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor

    • Act as ECN Administrator and ensure efficient completion of the process for each ECN.

    • Demonstrate advanced computer skills with required software.

    • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing / engineering groups.

    • Address and resolve issues that surface with little to no supervision

    • Coordinate with different levels of the organization to ensure schedules are met.

    • Demonstrate a high and diverse level of tool use as well as develop tools.

    • Demonstrate an advanced level of product knowledge.

    • Support tooling and material information

    • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects/assignments/duties

    • Proficient use of the ECN and Document Management Systems to process changes and implement new product information.

    • Capable of successfully managing complex projects to a timeline and following Eaton's PROLaunch process. These projects may include working directly with field sales or the end customer

    • Tracks and reports trends to manager using data collection and analysis techniques such as Pareto and Gant charts. Uses this data to develop solutions to reverse negative trends

    • Capable of troubleshooting and programming devices such as adjustable frequency drives, solid state starters, device net systems and programmable logic controllers

    • Capable of designing control circuits that include the above

    • Proficiently use EBOM to create new assemblies

    • Lead project teams such as 8-D, cost reduction, greenbelt, etc.

    • Recognized as a technical resource by peers and others looking to them to solve problems and find solutions.

    • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Requires a High School Diploma / GED from an accredited institution with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree or higher in an related engineering/technology major with at least 2 years relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.

    • Relevant experience is defined as the use of computer-aided design software to create engineered drawings and/or experience and knowledge of the design and manufacturing of motor control centers and/or package control assemblies.

    • Company sponsorship is not being offered. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.

    Skills:

    • Understanding and application of drafting standards and techniques (using computer-aided engineering software)

    • Capability to visualize components, features and assemblies in three-dimensional space

    • Ability to use required engineering software tools and other common computer software (word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, etc.)
