    Our WSP USA Property and Buildings team is initiating a search for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Atlanta office. Be involved in projects with our Southern States Property & Buildings Team and be part of a team environment working in the complex building design and construction field: healthcare, science & technology, and advanced manufacturing projects.

    • Demonstrates developing analytical and design skills and ability to solve technical problems in professional discipline

    • Performs engineering design on specific tasks and portions of a broader project under minimal supervision of an experienced design engineer

    • Ability to utilize analytical techniques in solving technical problems

    • Demonstrates commitment to high quality technical performance utilizing current technical knowledge and applications

    • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

    • Ability to produce high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals

    • Demonstrates developing competency in utilizing computer software tools and applications to solve difficult engineering problems

    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision

    • Develops skills and knowledge base to work on technical tasks independently

    • Stays up to date on industry trends and participates in industry groups

    • Seeks mentorship and guidance on solving technical problems

    • Pursues professional development and training

    • Project coordination with other disciplines

    • Team Player - Responsive, reliable, and collaborative

    • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills

    • Assist in engineering design using Revit/CADD software

    • Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations

    • Assist with technical report writing - literature review, analytical studies, and concept design

    • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation

    • Assist senior staff members

    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural, or related engineering degree.

    • 1-3 years of relevant post education experience.

    • Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.

    • Familiarity with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.

    • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoDesk Revit.

    • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.

    • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.

    • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

    • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Graduate in an accredited mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering program, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.

    • Engineer In Training Certificate.

    • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation software.

    • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. #LI-JA1
